Lone Peak accelerates client

Lone Peak, in conjunction with Cultivate Ideas, a local advertising agency, created a stunning video for WeXL. WeXL is an innovative financial services company that helps people create wealth while eliminating debt. With little source footage and a very tight deadline, using Motion and AfterEffects, Lone Peak cleverly combined stock images, graphics, and video into a quick-moving piece that maintains graphic continuity with other WeXL marketing materials.

Lone Peak creates another stunning television open and graphics package

Lone Peak was hired by Executive Producer James Brown from Salt Lake Studios to create a stunning show open and graphics package for the new High Definition (HD) television show, 1000cc Raw Thrill. The show opens with great sportbike footage, killer graphics and high-energy music that grabs the viewer’s attention.  It has a cutting edge look and feel with all sorts of gages and high impact footage.

“The challenge was to incorporate SD footage with HD footage in the same open, SD being a lot smaller in size than HD.  Because of that, I came up with the idea to show off lots of footage at the same time. This not only solved the challenge Lone Peak was given, but also created a truly unique look and feel,” said Stephen Smith, who created the graphics for the show.

The result is an open worthy of the two hosts (Greg White and Erin Bates from the Speed Channel) and the numerous top sportbike riders who join them each episode. To decide for yourself check out the motion graphics in the 1000cc Raw Thrill show open.

Lone Peak honored with three Aurora Awards

The Aurora Awards announced that Lone Peak Productions has won three awards for excellent video production work. Sinclair’s Utah Oil Benefits Orientation video won a gold award in the Employee Benefits/Orientations category. This video was designed to help Sinclair employees gain a grater understanding of what benefits they have available and how they can be utilized.  As part of a series tailored to each of Sincilair’s divisions, the project was shot in the Lone Peak studio on green screen and, in post, modified to fit each division’s policies.  The net effect was Sinclair realizing considerable savings overall at a considerably compressed production schedule.

Lone Peak was also excited to find out that two recent videos they produced for Oakridge National Laboratories and FEMA/Homeland Security, brought home gold awards as well. The Operations Level Training: A Refresher video was created to help firefighters nationwide supplement mandatory recurrent training requirements as it relates to handling of hazardous materials.  As part of the project, Lone Peak staged an oil tanker – propane tanker accident and, with the help of the Salt Lake County Unified Fire Authority and Salt Lake County Sheriff’s office, staged an accurate HazMat emergency response.  This response was woven into a classroom style training exercise where, through chroma-key techniques, live video, animation and graphics were presented on the classroom “eraser board.”

The third gold award was in recognition of an Animals In Emergencies video. After Katrina, animal issues gained national prominence and congress responded with passing PETS legislation requiring every state, county, and city adopt animal issues into their emergency response master plan.  This video was designed to help emergency planners and animal owners gain a greater understanding of what animal related issues may arise in an emergency and what they can do to mitigate them. This video not only won an award for outstanding production, but was listed as one of FEMA’s significant annual accomplishments, and distributed to congress and state and county governments nationally, and aired on several local TV stations and government websites.

Lone Peak helps showcase Teleperformance’s contribution to the world

Teleperformance, an in-bound contact center business based in Paris and industry leader, raised 1.5 million dollars last year to help the needy children of the world and once again turned to Lone Peak Productions to help create a video to jump-start this year’s fund raising campaign.

Danny Lasko, Marketing Communications Director for Teleperformance commented that, “Lone Peak Productions is a small group of photo shooting, video editing, blow-your-mind media creating professionals that have proven you don’t have to be monstrous to matter. They’ve produced more than a dozen projects for us, each one better than the last. I am convinced it’s due to their rich expertise, personal attention to their clients, and their simple desire to make cool stuff. I could not ask for a better partner.”

One of the elements Lone Peak employed to catch viewers’ attention was to create a slick graphic package that helped showcase what different subsidiaries did throughout the world as shown below.

Lone Peak Beautifies Nature

Lone Peak Productions handled color correction (amongst other things) for the new feature film Horse Crazy 2. The film takes place in a gorgeous part of rural America and needed the visuals to show it. Due to scheduling conflicts, bad weather and other things out of the control of the filming crew, some shots needed help.

“The movie was shot in a beautiful, green, rural area of Michigan during the summer but, supplemental mountain shots for the open couldn’t be shot until fall in Utah. I utilized some of Color’s advanced features to alter the footage so it looked like it was all shot in the summer. When I was finished, it even looked better then it did in real life,” said Stephen Smith, editor and colorist on the film.

Dead plants came to life, sunsets glowed with radiant color and day was turned into night once Lone Peak worked it’s magic. The before and after versions of the film are literally a “night and day difference” that speaks for itself.

Lone Peak provides national HAZMAT training video

Working with Oak Ridge National Laboratories and FEMA, Lone Peak Productions once again helped raise the bar in training videos. In an effort to make HAZMAT recurrent training for firefighters more interesting and effectivel, an accident scenario involving two tanker trucks and a subsequent HAZMAT spill was written into the script of this latest video. As well as producing the overall video, Lone Peak was responsible for staging the accident, creating a spill, and directing professional actors in the roles of firefighters responding to the accident. The accident was documented with three cameras and and a helicopter and is broken into a variety of scenarios presented throughout the larger video. Not only will this two hour video be distributed to firefighters nationwide, it will largely satisfy mandatory recurrent training requirements. This represents the sixth video Lone Peak has produced for Oak Ridge and FEMA in the last five years – a great partnership!

Lone Peak adds another trophy to their collection

Lone Peak Productions has won 11 Aurora Awards in the last five years and now adds another to it’s collection. Lone Peak crafted a benefits orientation video for Sinclair Oil that was exciting as well as informative. With multiple companies, divisions, and states under the Sinclair umbrella, the challenge for Lone Peak was to produce one “core” video that could be easily and inexpensively changed to reflect the respective benefits offered to employees of these disparate groups. With careful pre-production followed by tight production, Lone Peak was able to shoot content for all nine versions in one day saving Sinclair thousands of dollars. “To be able to produce that much content in one day and still win an Aurora Award is quite a testament to what can be accomplished with careful planning,” said Stephen Smith, editor at Lone Peak.
