What Is DVD?
DVD, or Digital Versatile Disc, is a format designed to bring video into the digital age, the same way CDs did a couple decades ago. What took so long? Good question, but whatever it was, we're not disappointed. DVD combines the ease of use of a CD with the picture quality of today's High Definition (HD) TVs. Instead of being forced to watch a video straight through, DVD allows you to "jump" to any location you would like to on the disc. This makes the disc interactive, and more enjoyable for the user. Also, it makes for a very versatile user experience. Custom menus provide navigation and engaging motion to an otherwise static medium. In addition, multimedia content can also be included on the same disc, allowing for a separate program or presentation to be played on the user's computer.
